These WebPages have been designed to maintain, as much as is

relate to the text on the adjoining page, and this sequence

the text pages are presented in sequential order within sequential
sections. Each section is accessed from the menu below. The
sections are presented in sequential order, left to right, and then top
to bottom. To return to the introductory page, or to see images of the original document, or to browse randomly through some of the illustrations from the History, please select from the menu on the left. |
